We are delighted to announce that the #EIT2027 conference will be hosted by the Department of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine at the University Medical Centre Schleswig-Holstein in Kiel, Germany.
Building on the rich tradition of previous EIT Conferences, this event offers a platform for researchers, engineers and clinicians from across the globe to share their recent research results, expertise and insights into the medical applications of Electrical Impedance Tomography, Magnetic Induction Tomography, and Magnetic Resonance Electrical Impedance Tomography.
The conference features plenary and keynote lectures, scientific oral and poster presentations, workshops and excellent networking opportunities, all set in the sailing city of Kiel in the middle of summer.
The conference will explore a wide range of topics, including:
- Clinical applications of Impedance Imaging
- Hardware for Impedance Imaging
- Software for Impedance Imaging
- Algorithms, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence and Data Analysis
- Inverse Problems and Theory
- Bioimpedance, including Spectroscopy and the Dielectric Properties of Biological Tissues
- Related developments in Geophysics and Process Tomography with potential crossover to biomedical applications

Proceedings
Following the long-standing tradition of publishing conference proceedings, all abstracts accepted and presented at the conference (both oral and poster) will be included in the proceedings with a DOI-accessible reference.

The conference will be held in Kiel, Germany.

Conference Venue: The University Medical Centre Schleswig-Holstein, Campus Kiel
(in German: Universitätsklinikum Schleswig-Holstein (UKSH), Campus Kiel).
The conference will take place in the lecture hall (Hörsaal) of the former Children´s Hospital (Alte Kinderklinik) on the ground floor. This is the Building U27 (Haus U27).
(Please use the south entrance from the street Schwanenweg.)
The workshops will be organised in the same building on the 7th floor in the rooms of the Kiel Simulation and Trainingsunit (Lehrklinik) called ‘KiSTE’.
The round tables will be organised in the seminar rooms on the 8th floor.

Travel Information
Arriving by plane
The nearest large international airport is in Hamburg. For transfer to Kiel we recommend:
- Taxi airport service for a fixed price offered by Mare Taxi (tel. +49 431 77070, email: willkommen@maretaxikiel.de). The journey takes about 1 hour, the taxi will take you to any address in Kiel. Current price for 1-3 passengers 115 € and for 4-8 passengers 125 €.
- Airport bus service Kielius. The journey takes about 1 hour and 45 minutes, the bus will take you to the Central Bus Station in Kiel. Current price is 27 € (single ticket) or 49 € (return ticket).
- Train. Take the suburban train (S-Bahn) line S1 from the airport to the Hamburg Central Station (Hamburg Hbf). The S1 departs every 10 minutes, the journey takes 25 minutes. From the Hamburg Central Station take a train to the Kiel Central Station (Kiel Hbf), the journey takes about 1 hour 10 minutes. Current ticket price for a single journey in a 2nd class coach is 25 – 35 €.
Arriving by train
There exist regular direct connections with major German cities like Berlin, Munich or Frankfurt. Two to three train connections per hour connect Kiel and Hamburg. Tickets can be purchased through the German railways (Deutsche Bahn).
Arriving by ship
Daily cruise ferry journeys connect Kiel with Oslo, Norway (Color line), Gothenburg, Sweden (Stena line) and Klaipeda, Lithuania (DFDS).
Arriving by bicycle
The city of Kiel lies directly on the European Baltic Sea Cycle Route (EuroVelo 10). Cycling is popular everywhere in and around Kiel – the description of a few tours can be found here.
